About this Event
The Northern Network for the Study of the Crusades invites you to join us for our 7th Annual Symposium on the theme of Crusading, warfare, militarization in medieval society. Programme for the day runs as follows and includes a keynote from Professor John France (Swansea University) entitled ‘St Louis and Mansourah’.

Louis Pulford (Honourary Research Fellow, Lancaster University): ‘Pollution and Purity: Justifying Holy War during the Albigensian Crusade’
Thomas Brosset (Associate Lecturer, Lancaster University): ‘Was Kerbogha made a scapegoat for the failure of the Muslim coalition against the First Crusade in March–June 1098?’
