Registrations will open in January 2025.The HALF MARATHON is a road race down the beautiful Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway featuring limestone canyon walls blanketed with coniferous and deciduous trees along Spearfish Creek. Runners begin in Savoy at 7 AM and follow Highway 14A, Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway, to the Spearfish City Park.
*All half marathon racers receive a participation medal.
*The top male and female finisher in each age category will receive a place medal: Under 12, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. There will also be place medals given for the top three overall time finishers for the female and male divisions.
*Everyone registered by June 24 will receive a race shirt/tank.
*The Half Marathon course is a certified course (USATF Certificate SD16003BK). Participants must run on the left side of the road or be DISQUALIFIED.
-Buses will be available to transport runners from the Spearfish City Park to the starting point of the half marathon beginning at 5:30 a.m. on July 12. The last bus will leave at 6:00 a.m. Participants are welcome to be dropped off at the starting point near Savoy. However, traffic can get extremely congested, so we strongly encourage runners to ride the bus.
The 5K starts and ends in the Spearfish City Park. Runners follow the road through the campground and connect with the bike path to the canyon parking lot, then head back down the scenic byway to reconnect with the bike path to end in the park.

Spectator t-shirts/tanks can be purchased online prior to June 24, 2025.

**Discounted nightly lodging rates may be available at the Spearfish Holiday Inn. Please contact the hotel directly at 605-642-4683. More information will be announced when it gets closer to the 2025 date.
**Packet pick-up for 2025 will occur on Friday, July 11, from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Northern Hills Area CASA Office, located at 741 N. 5th Street in Spearfish. If you are unable to pick up your bib/packet during this time, you can get it, beginning at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Spearfish City Park.
**As this is a fundraising event for Northern Hills CASA, a non-profit organization, no refunds will be issued.
