About the North Shields Comedy Festival

Funded by North Tyneside Council, and in partnership with Little Robot CIC, Salt Market Social, and The Exchange 1856.

Little Robot CIC is a community-focused, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making comedy and creative performance accessible to everyone.

We provide inclusive, supportive spaces where people can explore creativity, build confidence, and connect with others—especially those who may not typically have access to these opportunities.

Our work is particularly focused on supporting:

• Individuals experiencing social isolation, low confidence, or challenges with mental wellbeing
• Aspiring and emerging comedians and performers, including those from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds
• Local community members who want to engage with comedy in a safe, welcoming environment

Through workshops, creative projects, and performance opportunities, we aim to:

• Strengthen community connections
• Promote inclusion and accessibility
• Support mental wellbeing
• Nurture confidence, creativity, and self-expression
