North County Band is the creative culmination of Chicago-born singer-songwriter Scott Smith and Texas fiddle sensation, Cat Lines. Together they summoned some of Connecticut's most seasoned and versatile musicians to compliment their songwriting craft & musical prowess and to deliver a unique signature sound. Their debut EP, "Connecticut", is widely regarded as a grass-roots collaborative effort with songs about the Nutmeg State, isolation, challenges of the modern era, and family. This initial recording release propelled the band into a nine-state, 115-date tour, as well as nominations for New England's "Country Act of the Year" and "Rising Stars of Connecticut" by the New England Music Awards. Wasting no time, the North County Band has now partnered with renowned music producer David Morgan of the Music Shed Studios, to get to work on their sophomore release and fan-funded "Lay it on the Line" LP which is currently in development and widely anticipated.
Brian Dolzani has felt compelled to create original music and turn his pain into beauty since the age of 15 when his father died in a car accident. It was a crossroads of sorts, the loss of a parent and the gift of a guitar; a turning point in his young life that gave hima focus and an outlet, and a way to try and get closer to humanity and touch the fire thatburned him. When seeking subject matter to write about, personal feelings, relationships, social issues, what may seem dire or hopeless always ends in hope, as it’s through creation that Brian has learned to sustain his life. Brian’s music has been described as “musical medicine for the soul” by the Lonesome Noise blog, and the Americana bible No Depression declared “Dolzani’s melancholy musings are remarkably affecting,” while also praising his melodies as “eternally engaging, and, on more than one occasion, even soothing and seductive.” Brian has released nine full length, independent albums and EP’s. From the moment heshares his voice, listeners note a remarkable similarity to Neil Young, who happens to be Brian’s biggest artistic influence. Brian also fronts a project he calls ‘ The Loner’, where he performs full shows of Neil Young’s music to audiences in awe of his remarkable Neil vibe.2025 will see the release of his next album, titled The Endless Sky. Beloved songs fromrecent albums such as Horse and We Are Magic continue to be featured in Brian’s live shows, both solo and full band.
