North Country Fair was formed in the mid 90’s at the peak of the traditional music scene. Out of the old Dockside and Last Elm Cafe sessions came a group of Burlington area multi instrument musicians. Playing Celtic, Old Time and Quebecois music they made the rounds in northern Vermont. The band reforms from time to time and the latest iteration includes original members Angie Oliver, Rick Kovacs, Mitch Barron and Doug Riley. Newcomers Katrina Sheats of northern New York via Crane School of Music and Riczi Kovacs, steeped in the music since birth, bring a fresh perspective to the group. The group’s current repertoire includes lively old Irish chestnuts as well as hauntingly beautiful Celtic melodies with a New Age flair.
