North Beach Social: The Navikaran Quartet

The Navikaran Quartet is an Indian Fusion ensemble led by tabla master Rajesh Bhandari. Navikaran means "renovation, renewal, or rejuvenation," reflecting their goal of creating a fresh, innovative sound in Indian music. The quartet's members include Pratyush Goberdhan (Violin/Sarangi), Kanada Narahari (Sitar/Surbahar), and Keshav Nelavai (Mridangam), along with Bhandari (Tabla), with original music that also incorporates electronic effects and synthesizers into the classical Indian form.The North Beach Social, Third Thursdays at the Bandshell, is the Rhythm Foundation's free monthly meet-up for our music-loving community.
