You’ve heard about how great the Newark music and arts scene is, now’s your chance to discover for yourself what all the hype is about at the Audible Showcase Stage where we curated a fire weekend offering the best of Newark-centric sounds, food, drink, and vendors that make the Brick City home to so many creatives, all in one convenient location at Harriet Tubman Square!
Come check out 14 amazing artists perform a wide range of genres including hip hop, R&B, house, Jersey club, jazz, comedy, spoken word, and dance providing a continuous series of FREE performances by some of the city’s most-loved artists.
From June 28 – 30, we shine a light on our Newark hometown heroes. Half of the featured artists on the Audible Showcase Stage were selected through a competitive application process by Newark arts and culture leaders to represent the city in this special event created for the North to Shore Festival. These Official Selection artists include gifted musicians Choy, Aja Moyé, J Read, Rasha Jay, Charisa the ViolinDiva; comedy from nicole soul; and dance from Camille Moten Rennie and Company of Collaborative Artists (CoCA), and Evelyn Tejeda.
Noted Greater Newark area performers including world-renown DJ Spinna, Eli Fola, and P.Genz will round out the bill while local turntablists including Newark’s DJ Wallah, DJ Shell Spin, DJ Sienna Chanel and hosts Alexandra Hill, Unicorn151 and Kitab Rollins will keep the party lively between sets all weekend long.
In the event of inclement weather, performances will be held in the Newark Public Library’s Centennial Hall across the street from the park.
