Norm Hamlet, a true living legend, toured with Merle Haggard for 49 1/2 years. He was the band manager, steel guitarist, and dobro and banjo player of The Strangers. Norm even drove Merle's busses.
Norm's roles and accolades are many. Some include being inducted in the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 2008, performing at the White House, opening for the Rolling Stones, and, of course, recording and touring with Merle Haggard.
On February 27, 2025, Norm will turn 90. Come to Buck Owens' Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California, and enjoy an evening of music, affection, and homage. While you are there, be sure to wish Norm a happy birthday.
