Formed in 2005, Kongero (Anna Wikénius, Sofia Hultqvist Kott, Lotta Andersson, and Emma Björling) has become one of Scandinavia’s most celebrated vocal ensembles. Their music is evocative and haunting, filled with intricate harmonies, rhythmic drive, and the soul of Swedish folk traditions. At once groovy and ethereal, their concerts take listeners on an unforgettable journey through the landscape of Nordic song.

With six acclaimed albums—including their most recent, Live in Longueuil—Kongero pushes the boundaries of folk, world, a cappella, and chamber music. Their artistry has carried them across Europe, North America, and beyond, with performances at major showcases such as Folk Alliance International, Nordic Folk Alliance, Bourse Rideau, and Global Music Match.

Beyond the stage, Kongero shares their passion through workshops and master classes, building lasting connections with singers around the world. They are also the founders of Nordic Folk Fest and serve on the board of NASC – North Atlantic Song Community, strengthening cultural exchange through song.
