Nordic Walking Taster Session
About this Event
This friendly taster session will give you a good insight into what Nordic Walking is all about, including the history and pole advice. The physical and mental benefits of exercising in a social environment, immersed in nature will be very apparent. Nordic walking is suitable for anyone that can walk, from support to sport. The taster will include various exercises and drills with the poles to help give the feel of the technique and what muscles are used.
By the end the participants will have a good understanding of the benefits of walking with poles, with particular focus on improving their posture and learning how to walk more actively.
Nordic Walking has low perceived effort, burning more calories and using more muscles than walking without poles. It turns you into a four legged animal so is great for anyone with joint or back problems. Using the correct technique can help relieve neck and shoulder tension. The health rewards are endless. If you enjoy walking and being outdoors then why not come and have a go. All levels of fitness are welcome.
