Hello Delhi. Welcome to NONSCENE. Inspired by Bharat Muni's Natya Shastra, this Improv Theatre Workshop, which combines 'The Techniques of Improv' and 'The Tools of Theatre', is designed for Improvisors and Actors who want more than just "opening up".
WORKSHOP DETAILS
3-Day Workshop
Through a series of hands-on exercises, you will strengthen your improvisational skills and learn to engage with the audience, fully inhabiting your performances.
We will explore improv beyond the basics and discover genres not explored before. We are here to build deeper scene work and focus on active listening and storytelling.

This Workshop is designed, curated, and facilitated by Gavin Methalaka of 'Aashurachana - School of Improv'
Who is your instructor?
Gavin Methalaka is an international theatre practitioner, actor, voice artist, writer, director, filmmaker, and applied improvisation facilitator with over 15 years of experience in improvisational theatre and performance. A student of NSD veteran Padmashree Josalkar and the late Pt. Satyadev Dubey, one of the architects of modern Indian theatre, Gavin brings a rich foundation in performance, storytelling, and actor training to his work.
As the Founder & Director of Aashurachana School of Improv, he has trained performers, educators, corporate teams, and aspiring artists across the globe, using improvisation as a tool for creativity, communication, collaboration, and personal growth.
Gavin is best known for portraying T. K. Kutty in the Indian adaptation of The Office, Gary in Netflix's anthology series Ray, and David Brown in Saregama's Disco Dancer: The Musical, reprising the iconic character originally played by Om Puri in the classic film. The musical premiered at Sadler's Wells, London, and was subsequently staged at the Dubai Opera.
In his debut appearance at the Short+Sweet Dubai Festival 2026, Gavin's original play, Serveurs de la Résistance, won Best Writer, Best Director, and Best Play (Judges' Choice).
Known for his engaging, playful, and inclusive facilitation style, Gavin creates spaces where participants can take creative risks, strengthen their stage presence, build authentic connections, and discover the joy of spontaneous storytelling.
