Are you interested in starting a nonprofit or strengthening your understanding of how nonprofit organizations operate in Arizona? Join us for Nonprofit 101, an interactive and informative workshop designed to help you gain the foundational knowledge needed to build, manage, and sustain a successful nonprofit organization.
This workshop is perfect for aspiring founders, new nonprofit leaders, board members, volunteers, or anyone curious about how nonprofits work behind the scenes.

This two-hour workshop provides a practical overview of nonprofit creation, structure, and operations. Participants will explore key components of nonprofit work—from formation and governance to fundraising and long-term mission sustainability.

Featured Speaker: Janeen K. Gaskins, MEP, GPC, CLIPP, CPM
Janeen Gaskins is a seasoned grant professional with more than 20 years of experience supporting municipal governments, nonprofits, and private organizations. Her expertise has helped secure and manage millions in funding—averaging $5M annually in grant awards and $20M in grant administration.
She holds a Master’s in Environmental Planning and Urban Design from Arizona State University and is certified as a Grant Professional, Certified Public Manager, and Certified Living in Place Professional.
Janeen currently serves as the Grant Program Manager for the City of Peoria and is the President & CEO of G.A.S.K.I.N.S. Charity, which focuses on improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations through technology and smart design. She is also active in multiple volunteer and board roles that support community impact.
