About this Event
Come watch 20-minute cuts of new work by Columbia students! NOMADS' Wordplay series is a one-night-only presentation of staged readings of new work by Columbia students. This years' program consists of cuts from:
- a bisexual narrative of american football (in wartime) AKA "animals" by Sean Daley (GS '27), a drama about violence, insurgency, and the wild | Directed by Clara Noggle (CC '28
- Przeznaczenie by Eric Butler (CC '26), a modern opera about finding meaning, robots, and the apocalypse | Directed by Katie Sauer (BC '27)
- The Squid by Ella Britton (BC '27), a comedy about iridescent skin, one man’s refusal to stop rapping, and animal instinct | Directed by Mamie Rushkoff (BC '27)
- Proteus by Frankie Fidler (CC '28), a comedy about the aftermath of the Trojan War, satyrs, and forgiveness | Directed by Sebastian Bader (CC '26)
The readings will be followed by a private reception and celebration of the playwrights' work this season. Refreshments will be served at the performances and reception.
If you are not a CUID/BCID holder, please procure tickets by April 30 to ensure access to the event. The readings will take place on Barnard's campus.
We hope to see you there!
