NOMA PDX | Navigating Neurodivergence in the Workplace (In-Person Option)
About this Event
Join NOMA PDX's Workplace Advocacy Committee and Judy Katz at the City of Possibility!
Being neurodivergent in a neurotypical-normative workplace can present a host of challenges. These include sensory difficulties, social and communication norms, and workload demands that conflict with many neurodivergents’ need for rest. Added to this, the stress of masking—already higher among marginalized groups—makes decreased performance and burnout not just possible, but likely.
This session will help participants identify your barriers and start to mitigate them. It will also focus on making inroads toward promoting greater neuroinclusivity and neuroaccessibility within your organization.
This is a lecture session followed by a Q&A with open conversation. Light snacks provided!!

NOMA PDX (The Portland Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects) was founded by 3 Latina PSU Students in 2020 while studying Architecture in hopes of fostering a wider community of global majority but industry minority students and professionals (Black, Indigenous, Latine, Asian, SWANA & People of Color etc. )
In Oregon there are only 6 architects that are listed on the The Directory of African American Architects which not only speaks to the larger issue about lack of representation in the Architecture industry nationwide but here locally. Let's try to fix that by building students and professionals networks of support.
