Nolan Potter's Nightmare Band is the band project of composer and multi-instrumentalist Nolan Potter. They are based in Austin, TX. Nolan grew up in a town of 600 people in Michigan with a rich musical heritage, which included choirs and musical theater. Since early childhood, he's been involved in every available musical activity: praise and church band, church and school choir, school band, pep band, learning to play piano, trumpet and guitar. He started his first band when he was 13 years old. Later Nolan moved to Grand Rapids, MI, where he got involved with the local psych scene, represented by bands such as Heaters, Knife Ritual, where he played drums, and Moss Folk, where he played bass. After Nolan moved to live in Austin, TX, he played drums with a number of Austin bands such as Annabelle Chairlegs, and at the same time began writing music that he "wanted to play drums to". He put out a number of Bandcamp solo releases and was persuaded by his friends to adapt his music for live performance.
