An LGBTQ+ social media influencer who spun online success into a career as a pop punk singer, NOAHFINNCE harnesses the nervy energy, nagging hooks, and rambunctious rebellion that have been a staple in punk since its inception. NOAHFINNCE isn't a traditionalist, as the title of his 2024 debut album, Growing Up on the Internet, makes plain. Saturated in media and fluent in memes, the punk rocker patches together a collage of past pop culture to speak to the present.
A native of Ascot, England born on August 18, 1999, Noah Finna Adams fell in love with pop punk at an early age. The English band Busted became a gateway to such emo acts as Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, but he maintained an affection for frenzied chords and nagging melodies. Initially a drummer, he gravitated to guitar in his teens.
Originally, Adams posted covers online under the name Triggerwarningrat, an endeavor he started in 2015 that gained particular attention for a version of Grace VanderWaal's "I Don't Know My Name." Around 2017, he left his boarding school and publicly came out as transgender, spending the next year blogging about his transition.
In 2018, he released the ukulele ditty "Asthma Attack" under the name Noah Adams, supporting the song with an appearance on that year's Warped Tour. Shortly afterward, he adopted the performing name NOAHFINNCE, splitting his time between inspirational and educational LGBTQ+ vlogs and his own music.
Signing with Hopeless Records in 2020, NOAHFINNCE first gained traction on streaming services with "Life's a Bit," a song featured on his 2021 EP Stuff from My Brain. After touring the U.S. with Sophie Powers in 2022, he released the EP My Brain After Therapy. During 2023, he toured America with Bears in Trees, then started to broaden his collaborators, working with McFly's Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones on Growing Up on the Internet, his first full album. Featuring production by Stefan, Lawrent, Thomas Mitchener, and Arcades, Growing Up on the Internet appeared in March 2024.
