Why investing in infrastructure interdependence is critical to Sydney’s resilience
About this Event

Join the Committee for Sydney, Aurecon, and infrastructure resilience leaders to explore key strategies for strengthening our city's infrastructure links.

Thriving cities like Sydney rely on a connected network of physical infrastructure that support the needs and aspirations of business and the community. In the face of more frequent disaster events, a changing climate, and increased demands from our growing population, our infrastructure providers - from waste and water, to transport, communications and energy - are enhancing and adapting assets and systems. But our city is only as strong as its weakest link. For Sydney to prosper today and tomorrow, we will need to continue to understand possible points of failure, and invest in the hard and soft solutions needs to strengthen Sydney's resilience.
Sam Kernaghan (Director, Resilience Program, Committee for Sydney) and Katie Vines (Director Adaptation and Resilience, Climate-KIC Australia) will present this new report followed by a panel discussion.

Speakers include:

  • Penny Joseph, Program Director Climate Resilience, Ausgrid
  • Dr Christobel Ferguson, Technical Resilience Lead, Resilient Sydney
  • Dave Campbell, Head of Field Operations and Safety, Endeavour Energy
  • Said Hirsh, Head of Strategy, Policy and Planning, Infrastructure NSW
