No Pressure Cookbook Club x The Parentless Club Potluck

We're teaming up with The Parentless Club for our next No Pressure Cookbook Club event!

The Parentless Club is a community for those navigating life after the loss of a parent, created by people who are right there with you. They create events and spaces where people share their stories, connect over shared experiences, honour their parent(s) in big and in small ways, support each other through the uncomfortable laughs and the ugly cries, and yes, even crack a few dark jokes.

Food carries so many memories for us, so this collaboration felt like the perfect way to make grief a little less lonely and honour the people who are no longer with us.

Rather than cooking from a cookbook for this event, we're looking to you for the recipes and dishes. Whether it's a family recipe that's been passed down, your parent's favourite dish from a specific restaurant, a special meal from your memory or a dish from your culture, we would love for you to bring it to share with us.

Your ticket includes entry to the event, drinks, giveaways, and free entry to Chefs' Table Society of BC's cookbook library.

Please sign up with the intention to cook and bring a dish to the gathering. We'll be sharing everything potluck-style and you can fill out the recipe spreadsheet upon purchasing a ticket.

We also plan to collect everyone's recipes (if you would like to share, no pressure!) and create a digital copy of a recipe book for everyone to receive after the event.

The Parentless Club is a registered Canadian not-for-profit, and proceeds of this event will go towards creating more spaces to connect over grief.

Food safety notice: Because we don't require perfection or professional cooking skills to participate in this event, we cannot guarantee the quality, safety, or allergen status of any food. Please bring what you feel comfortable eating, and if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, we highly recommend asking about ingredients used from your fellow cookbook club attendees. Hosts, participants, and the venue are not responsible for any foodborne illnesses, allergic reactions, or any other culinary mishaps that might occur.

No Pressure Cookbook Club, The Parentless Club, the venue, and any event staff are not liable for any injuries, food-related issues, or other incidents that might arise during the event.
