Η 5η εκδοχή του No Ordinary Festival of experimental sounds θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο Transcendace - αγωγό τέχνης στη Θεσσαλονίκη στις 12, 13 και 14 Σεπτεμβρίου 2025, παρουσιάζοντας 6 συναυλίες πειραματικής μουσικής.
Η φετινή διοργάνωση του NOF παρουσιάζει οκτώ καταξιωμένες/ους αυτοσχεδιάστριες/ές από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό, που θα συναντηθούν και θα παίξουν για πρώτη φορά μαζί!
Nο Ordinary Festival of experimental sounds is an annual sound festival in Thessaloniki, Greece based on experimental and improvised music.
The 5th edition of the festival will take place on the 12th, 13th and 14th of September 2025 at Transcendance Art Space in Thessaloniki, presenting six unique improvised and experimental music concerts. This year's programme features eight acclaimed performers from Greece and abroad, who will meet and play together for the first time.

Άννα Λινάρδου, φωνή
H Άννα Λινάρδου εξερευνά την πολυμορφία της φωνής, συνδυάζοντας σύγχρονες, κλασικές, παραδοσιακές φωνητικές ποιότητες και extended vocal techniques. Έχει τραγουδήσει ως σολίστ στην Ευρώπη και την Αμερική, και έχει συνεργαστεί με τον Θάνο Μικρούτσικο, με εμφανίσεις στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών κ.ά.. Η Άννα Λινάρδου διευθύνει την Διαπολιτισμική Χορωδία της Εθνικής Λυρικής Σκηνής.
Anna Linardou explores the diversity of the voice, combining contemporary, classical, traditional vocal qualities and extended vocal techniques. She has sung as a soloist in Europe and America, and has collaborated with Thanos Mikroutsikos, with appearances at the Athens Concert Hall, etc. Anna Linardou conducts the Intercultural Choir of the Greek National Opera.

Ο Γαλλο-Ιάπωνας βιολονίστας Frantz Loriot (*1980) εμφανίζεται ως σολίστ και δραστηριοποιείται σε διάφορα διεθνή σύνολα, δουλεύοντας κυρίως με πρακτικές αυτοσχεδιαστικής μουσικής.
Συνεργάζεται τακτικά σε διεπιστημονικά έργα που αφορούν το χορό, το θέατρο, την εικόνα, την ποίηση και το χώρο.
Κατά τη διάρκεια πολλών ετών, ο Loriot έχει αναπτύξει μια μοναδική και ριζοσπαστική προσωπική μουσική γλώσσα. Σπάει την παράδοση και επιδιώκει συνεχώς να ωθεί τον εαυτό του και τη μουσική του προς ολοένα και ευρύτερους ορίζοντες. Η συνεχής εξέλιξή του τον ωθεί να προβληματιστεί σχετικά με τη σχέση μεταξύ της δικής του πρακτικής και των φιλοσοφικών και πολιτικών θεωριών. Ο Loriot δίνει τακτικά συναυλίες σε όλο τον κόσμο (Ευρώπη, ΗΠΑ, Νότια Αμερική, Ιαπωνία και Μέση Ανατολή) και έχει προσκληθεί ως artist-in-residence από διάφορα φεστιβάλ, χώρους και σύνολα. Ο Loriot είναι ένας από τους διοργανωτές του Zwei Tage Zeit, ενός φεστιβάλ αφιερωμένου σε διαφορετικές πρακτικές αυτοσχεδιαστικής μουσικής στη Ζυρίχη και ξεκίνησε το Recordedness, ένα διαδικτυακό συγγραφικό πρόγραμμα που επικεντρώνεται στη φύση των ηχογραφήσεων στη μουσική. Αφού έζησε στο Παρίσι και τη Νέα Υόρκη, ο Frantz Loriot εδρεύει στη Ζυρίχη (Ελβετία) από το 2012.

Violist Frantz Loriot (*1980) performs as a soloist and is active in several international ensembles, working mainly through improvised music practices.
He regularly contributes to interdisciplinary projects involving dance, theater, image, poetry and space.
Over the years, Loriot has developed a unique and radically personal musical language. He breaks with tradition and constantly seeks to push himself and his music towards ever-wider horizons. His constant development prompts him to reflect on the relationship between his own practice and philosophical and political theories.
Loriot performs regularly throughout the world (Europe, USA, South America, Asia and the Middle East) and has been invited as artist-in-residence by various festivals, venues and ensembles.
Involved in organizing events since 2005, Loriot is today one of the organizers of Zwei Tage Zeit, a festival dedicated to various practices of improvised music in Zurich and launched Recordedness, an online writing project centered on the nature of recordings in music.
After living in Paris and New York City, Frantz Loriot has been based in Zürich (Switzerland) since 2012.

Άρτεμις Βαβάτσικα, ακορντεόν
Η Άρτεμις Βαβάτσικα είναι μουσικός και αυτοσχεδιάστρια με βασικό της όργανο το ακορντεόν. Γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Η σχέση της με τη μουσική ξεκίνησε σε νεαρή ηλικία. Είναι κάτοχος διπλώματος Ακορντεόν Κοντσέρτου από το Ωδείο Athenaeum. Είναι πτυχιούχος του τμήματος Μουσικής Επιστήμης και Τέχνης του Πανεπιστημίου Μακεδονίας με ειδίκευση στο Ακορντεόν και κάτοχος Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος του ίδιου τμήματος. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε συναυλίες, φεστιβάλ, θεατρικές παραστάσεις και όπερες στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Αυτοσχεδιάζει επί σκηνής από το 2018, κατά κύριο λόγο ως μέλος ακουστικών και ηλεκτροακουστικών συνόλων. Η προσωπική της μουσική γλώσσα έχει επιρροές των ρευμάτων του ύστερου ρομαντισμού, του μοντερνισμού, του μινιμαλισμού και της μπαρόκ μουσικής.
Artemis Vavatsika is a musician and improviser whose main instrument is the accordion. She was born in Thessaloniki. Her relationship with music began at a young age. She holds a diploma in Accordion Concerto from the Athenaeum Conservatory. She is a graduate of the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia with a specialization in Accordion and holds a Master's Degree from the same department. She has participated in concerts, festivals, theatrical performances and operas in Greece and abroad. She has been improvising on stage since 2018, mainly as a member of acoustic and electroacoustic ensembles. Her personal musical language is influenced by the currents of late romanticism, modernism, minimalism and baroque music.

Γιώργος Βαρουτάς, ηλεκτρονικά
Ο Γιώργος Βαρουτάς ασχολείται με την τέχνη του ήχου. Η μέθοδός του βασίζεται στη ζωντανή επεξεργασία του ήχου ακουστικών οργάνων και φωνής. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε διεθνή έργα, που ενσωματώνουν τις μουσικές διαφόρων παραδόσεων στην ηλεκτρονική μουσική και συνεργάζεται με σημαντικούς καλλιτέχνες της σύγχρονης δημιουργικής έκφρασης.
Από τον Δεκέμβριο του 2023 επιμελείται τη σειρά συναυλιών ''Ostomachion Sessions'' που πραγματοποιούνται στην Αθήνα και φιλοξενούν μερικούς από τους πιο σημαντικούς αυτοσχεδιαστές από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό, μέσα σε ένα συγκεκριμένο πλαίσιο που στοχεύει στη διερεύνηση της ζωντανής αλληλεπίδρασης μεταξύ ακουστικών και ψηφιακών οργάνων.
His work is dichotomized between exploring extended guitar techniques with analog and digital means, and live sound processing of acoustic instruments by collaborators.
He is founding member of the Greek experimental bands Vault of Blossomed Ropes, Liminal Vanguard and Skraut as well as being a member of the international musical collective, Lüüp.
He has participated, both as a performer and as a sound artist, in a range of international projects that involve hybrid experiments that bring together contemporary electronic and traditional world music. Since December 2023 he curates the series of concerts ''Ostomachion Sessions'' which are held in Athens and host some of the most prominent improvisers from Greece and abroad, within a certain context that aims to explore the live interαction between acoustic and digital Instruments.

Eva Maria Karbacher, σαξόφωνο
Γεννημένη στη Ζυρίχη το 1992, είναι σαξοφωνίστρια και αυτοσχεδιάστρια που δουλεύει στην τομή της τζαζ με τον ελεύθερο αυτοσχεδιασμό και τη σύγχρονη μουσική. Εξερευνά τις ηχητικές δυνατότητες του σαξοφώνου και τις συνδυάζει με μελωδικά στοιχεία. Ο αυτοσχεδιασμός και η περιέργεια για την εύρεση νέων ήχων βρίσκονται στο επίκεντρο της μουσικής της δουλειάς. Η Eva-Maria Karbacher έχει δώσει συναυλίες σε όλη την Ευρώπη. Συχνά εμφανίζεται με το Duo Karbacher-Vryzas, το Trio UMIAK, το Duo Interrupted Lava, το Duo Around the Corner και την Unorthodoxjukebox Orchestra. Το ενδιαφέρον της για τη διεπιστημονική έρευνα, την οδήγησε σε τακτικές συνεργασίες με χορευτές όπως η Maya M. Carroll, η Bettina Neuhaus και η Maja Zimmerlin. Eva-Maria Karbacher, born in Zurich in 1992, is a saxophone player and improviser working at the intersection of free improvisation, contemporary music and jazz.
Her music explores all the different sound possibilities of the saxophone and combines them with melodic elements. Improvisation and a curiosity for finding new sounds is at the core of her musical work. Eva-Maria Karbacher performed all over Europe as a solo improviser as well as in various formations and ensembles. She currently plays with the Duo Karbacher-Vryzas (with Dimos Vryzas, violin), the Trio UMIAK (with Alfred Zimmerlin, Cello and Christian Moser, Oud), the Duo Interrupted Lava (with Lara Süß, voice), the Duo Around the Corner (with Victor Barceló, percussion) and the Unorthodoxjukebox Orchestra. Interested in interdisciplinary work, she collaborated regularly with dancers such as Maya M. Carroll, Gianna Grünig, Bettina Neuhaus and Maja Zimmerlin. Eva-Maria Karbacher studied classical saxophone and music education at the Hochschule Luzern as well as in Berlin at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler. Later on she broadened her abilities as an improviser at the Musikakademie Basel with a Master of Arts in Specialised Musical Performance in the improvisation class of Alfred Zimmerlin and Fred Frith. To further her education, she completed a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Jazz Performance at the Hochschule Luzern.

Ο Γιώργος Δημητριάδης, γεννημένος το 1964 στη Θεσσαλονίκη, είναι πειραματικός μουσικός, συνθέτης και περφόρμερ με έδρα το Βερολίνο. Χρησιμοποιώντας κρουστά, μικρόφωνα, field recordings και μινιμαλιστικά ηλεκτρονικά στοιχεία, η μουσική του επικεντρώνεται στη δημιουργία ηχητικών τοπίων σε πραγματικό χρόνο, με έμφαση στο ηχόχρωμα, τη χρωματική παλέτα του ήχου και τις μεγάλες διάρκειες. Από το 2006 ζει στο Βερολίνο και εμφανίζεται σε φεστιβάλ και συναυλιακές σειρές σε όλο τον κόσμο. Έχει εμφανιστεί και ηχογραφήσει τόσο ως σολίστ όσο και σε συνεργασία με μια σειρά από διεθνώς καταξιωμένους καλλιτέχνες, όπως οι Audrey Chen, Paul Dunmall, Tristan Honsinger, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Matthias Bauer, Frank Gratkowski, Lori Freedman, Michel Doneda, Amir ElSaffar, Tobias Delius, Marc Turner, Hilary Jeffery, Robin Hayward, Oguz Büyükberber, Meinrad Kneer, Silke Eberhard, καθώς και με την Berlin Improvisers Orchestra (BerIO), μεταξύ πολλών άλλων.
Yorgos Dimitriadis, born 1964 in Thessaloniki Greece, is an experimental musician, composer performer based in Berlin. Using percussion, microphones, field recordings and minimal electronics his music focuses on real time sonic landscapes, with an emphasis on timbre, sound color and long durations.
Since 2006 he lives in Berlin and appears at festivals and concert series worldwide. He has performed/recorded as a soloist and in collaboration with an array of renowned international artists like Audrey Chen, Paul Dunmall, Tristan Honsinger, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Matthias Bauer, Frank Gratkowski, Lori Freedman, Michel Doneda, Amir ElSaffar, Tobias Delius, Marc Turner, Hilary Jeffery, Robin Hayward, Oguz Büyükberber, Meinrad Kneer, Silke Eberhard and many more.

Sharif Sehnaoui, ακουστική κιθάρα
Ο Sharif Sehnaoui είναι κιθαρίστας του ελεύθερου αυτοσχεδιασμού. Παίζει τόσο ηλεκτρική όσο και ακουστική κιθάρα, χρησιμοποιώντας (ή όχι) τεχνικές διεύρυνσης και προετοιμασίας, και εστιάζοντας στην επέκταση των εγγενών δυνατοτήτων αυτών των οργάνων. Αυτή την περίοδο διαμένει στη Βηρυτό, τη γενέτειρά του, έχοντας ζήσει για περισσότερα από δέκα χρόνια στο Παρίσι: από εκεί ξεκίνησε την καριέρα του στην αυτοσχεδιαστική μουσική το 1998, παίζοντας στο Les Instants Chavirés με πολλά διαφορετικά μουσικά σχήματα. Έκτοτε έχει παρουσιάσει τη μουσική του σε πολλούς χώρους παγκοσμίως, παίζοντας σε κλαμπ και φεστιβάλ όπως τα Moers, Konfrontationen, High Zero, Bordeline , CTM, Maerzmusik, Berlinale , Le Guess Who? , Μπιενάλε της Σάρζα, Roskilde, Skanu Mesz, 100Live και Musikprotokoll . Συνέβαλε ενεργά στην (άνευ προηγουμένου ανάδυση της λιβανέζικης πειραματικής μουσικής σκηνής.
Sharif Sehnaoui is a free improvisational guitarist. He plays both electric and acoustic guitar, using (or not) extension and preparation techniques, and focusing on expanding the inherent capabilities of these instruments. He currently resides in Beirut, his birthplace, having lived in Paris for more than ten years: from there he began his career in improvisational music in 1998, playing in Les Instants Chavirés with many different musical groups. Since then, he has presented his music in many venues worldwide, playing in clubs and festivals such as Moers, Konfrontationen, High Zero, Bordeline, CTM, Maerzmusik, Berlinale, Le Guess Who?, Sharjah Biennale, Roskilde, Skanu Mesz, 100Live and Musikprotokoll. He actively contributed to the (unprecedented) emergence of the Lebanese experimental music scene.
