No One Can Raw Dog This LIfe: Creativity and Coping
No one can raw dog this life!
It’s exhausting to exist, especially as a creative person. How do we cope with the horrors? Join poets Alison Lubar & Heather Bowlan for a workshop that explores how creatives (like us and you) use art to make life liveable and even find some joy. We’ll explore mentor texts and our own ways of navigating the ups and downs (and sideways and upside-downs) of living in this time. Expect to connect with others and generate new work in any written genre.
About your hosts:
Alison Lubar (@theoriginalison) is a Nikkei poet and educator who teaches literature to teenagers, writing to adults, and yoga to all ages. They’re the author of The Other Tree, winner of Harbor Editions’ 2023 Laureate Prize, METAMOURPHOSIS (fifth wheel press, 2024), four chapbooks including their debut by Thirty West, and a forthcoming microchap, American Kintsugi (Bull City Press, 2026). Alison writes about biracial identity, queer love, transgenerational healing, and common moths; they are also a board member for Philadelphia’s Blue Stoop.
