Please join Indivisible Auburn/Opelika for our No Kings visibility event on October 18th from 10am-12pm. Since No Kings Day falls on the same day as an Auburn home football game, we're planning accordingly. We're setting up a sign brigade on N. College St outside of the Kreher Preserve to take advantage of all the traffic that will be heading into town that day. We'll spell out our message "COUNTRY OVER PARTY" in large, individual light-up letters, and have American flags for everyone else to wave.
Please note: traffic moves quickly on this road and small individual signs will be impossible to read at 55mph, so we're asking that protesters bring American flags instead of making their own signs. Our single message COUNTRY OVER PARTY surrounded by a sea of red, white, and blue flags will be a powerful visual!
We'll park in the Kreher Preserve parking lot on N. College. If you have multiple friends who are planning to attend, please consider carpooling.
We've also created a brilliant "Unpaid Protester" t-shirt in honor of the event. If you'd like one, T-shirts will be available for a suggested donation at our next planning meeting, taking place at the Opelika Library outdoor pavilion on 10/12 at 4pm.
