Nizami Qawwali at HowMuch?! Studios

Qawwali is defined by dynamic vocals and the unique traditional instruments of Pakistan - This style of music is designed to invoke deep sublime feelings in the audience by utilizing powerful rhythms combined with ancient lyrics written in languages such as Urdu, Punjabi and Farsi.

Ustad Ghulam Farid Nizami and his disciple Faraz Nizami are keeping alive a musical heritage with knowledge that was passed down from their ancestors from Pakistan and India. Ghulam and Faraz are 17th and 18th-generation musicians respectively, and they are descendants of an incredibly rich musical heritage from India and Pakistan.

This event has limited space and capacity maximum is 50 people! Please reserve your tickets in advance! Our intention is to make this event a 'Mehfil' - a festive and intimate gathering for both the audience and performers to participate in a communal experience of trancendence.

There will be Chai + Desi Snacks and Sweets provided at this event for everyone to enjoy!
We are parterning with HowMuch?! Studios for this event. This studio space is really amazing and there will be Audio and Video Production professionals on hand to capture and record the entire event!
Ustad Nizami represents the 17th generation of the Seniya Gharana and remains its primary exponent. Ustadji is a descendant of Mian Tan Sen, a legendary historical Indian musician and poet who is a pillar figure in the history of Hindustani classical music. Nizami ji is very unique in his ability to present a vast array of musical styles contained within the genre of Classical music.
Faraz Nizami is Ustad Nizami’s son and he is carrying his father’s legacy as an exponent of the 18th generation Seniya Gharana musician.

Nizami School of Music students Srajan Bhagat and Mario Garza will open this event with a Classical Sitar and Tabla performance.
