Join us for a grand opening of a new exhibition at NYPL highlighting stories of Middle Eastern and North African migrants in NYC.
About this Event

Join The New York Public Library for the grand opening of ! This free exhibition explores how New York City has shaped the lives, identities, and creative practices of MENA communities, artists, and writers, emphasizing their enduring contributions to the city’s cultural landscape—from Yemeni bodegas in Brooklyn to Arab nightclubs along Eighth Avenue. 

This celebration will bring together readers, artists, and community members to mark the opening of the exhibition. Hear from curator Hiba Abid and participants in the exhibition and connect with others who share a passion for history, culture, and storytelling. Light snacks and drinks will be served.

Attendees are invited to visit the exhibition in the Ispahani-Bartos Gallery on the first floor from 4–5 PM before the program begins, or from 7–8 PM following the event.
