Comedian and writer Claire Sullivan takes you on a trip of the strangest tales from Tasmania
About this Event

From Poatina to Rhyndaston, Lutruwita/Tasmania is replete with myths from the past.

But what is rumour, and what actually happened?

Writer and comedian Claire Sullivan will slice through some of the more macabre and – at times – downright bizarre true stories from this island.

Like: how did an alien-obsessed man disappear?

And how did a local jazz bar end up with a bullet-riddled front door?

She will preview her deeply researched true crime book about a Hobart ninja cult, due for release later this year with Pan Macmillan.

Claire is a writer and award-winning comedian, a Tasmanian living in Naarm/Melbourne.

She has written for The Big Issue, VICE, K*ll Your Darlings and many more publications.

She has a cat called Chicken and loves a good pub.
