Calling all future ninjas to our Jiu Jitsu Kids' Summer Camp – Start and end each day with awesome Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lessons that'll have you mastering new moves and feeling like champions. Between grappling and giggles, we've lined up epic Nerf gun battles that'll test your stealth and strategy! And that's not all – get ready for daily crafts that spark creativity and games that ignite laughter and teamwork. On the last day, Parents are invited to watch their kids’ Jiu Jitsu Demonstration as they show off their hard work and new skills, which will make you a proud parent.
What is Ninja & Nerf Camp?
Ninja and nerf is a week- long, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu centric, half day (12pm-4pm), summer camp, held at Portland's Premier Martial Arts Academy, Mata Leao Combat Sports.
Led by the head coach himself, to ensure that in the short amount of time that we have with your kids, they get incredible martial arts knowledge downloads, warrior and life lessons sprinkled here and there, and the ultimate level of fun and excitement to get your kiddos feeling satisfied (and put all their energy to good use!)

1 - Every day begins by bowing in to the training room, as our first ninja training session begins. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu BLACK BELT Professor Omar Santiago teaches fundamental jiu jitsu for all levels.
2 - After their first training session, it’s time to grab a snack and cool down with the Craft of the Day, plus one yoga session, led by a local Portland artist, Luyah.
3 - Once our energy is revived, its back to the training room for some fun games that will challenge kids teamwork, strategy, stealth, strength, and smile muscles :D
4 - On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we have a special treat for our Ninjas… Epic Nerf Gun Battles at game time!! Kids build forts and split into themes, and play different scenarios and strategy nerf gun games, as well as some good ol’ all out war! It’s safe of course with our rules in place, safety gear (goggles are provided) and referee keeping a close eye at all times.
5 - Kids enjoy a splash of free time to rest up and prepare for our last activity. Each day ends with a shorter, 30 minute jiu jitsu lesson. As we disguised drills as play, and stuff as much jiu jitsu, self defense, and bully-proofing knowledge into your little warriors as possible! We bow out and collect our belongings for 4:00 student pickup.
*6 - (late pick up option) if 4pm is too early for pick up, OR if you just need a little extra time with the kids out of the house (let’s be real) We offer late pick up, for an additional $40. Late pickup is at 5:30, and the kids will be allowed to do a quiet/calm activity, like reading their favorite comic, finishing up their craft of the day, or relaxing and watching a Ninja Movie, at the ed of the day. If you are registering for late pickup, you can come and get your kiddos from the back room any time between 4:00-5:30pm. *Please do not leave your kids here any later than 5:40, because our adult students will be coming in to use the back room at that time!! Thank you!*
Our aim is truly to create martial artists in the short time that we have with the kids this summer. Just by spending a week with us at our Mixed Martial Arts Academy, each student will take home lessons of respect, perseverance, and confidence, as well as blossom new friendships that will last in their memory for a lifetime.

-Students must bring a pair of clean flip flops, and a water bottle every day.
-Wearing athletic shorts and athletic t-shirt is recommended
-Students with Long hair must have their hair in a ponytail or braid!
This camp is appropriate for kids ages 5-13
Please show up at 11:45 on the first day, to get our safety waiver filled out, if you can!
