Η Krell Society μας προσκαλεί σε μία βραδιά όπου οι ήχοι και τα synths του Νίκου Φωκά (Black Lesbian Fishermen, Vault of Blossomed Ropes, Lüüp) συναντούν τους ηλεκτρονικούς ήχους του βρετανού Robin Rimbaud aka Scanner στη σκηνή του Underflow Record Store.
Τη βραδιά «ντύνουν» ο Αναστάσης Μπαμπατζιάς (live painting) και ο Σοφιανός Σαντατσόγλου (video).

Πρωτοπόρος Βρετανός συνθέτης και καλλιτέχνης, γνωστός για τη μετατροπή των κρυφών συχνοτήτων της καθημερινής ζωής σε μουσική. Εμφανιζόμενος στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1990, ο Scanner έγινε γνωστός για την καινοτόμο χρήση των υποκλαπέντων συνομιλιών από κινητά τηλέφωνα και found sounds, υφαίνοντας τους σε ηλεκτρονικές συνθέσεις που στοιχειώνουν· εξερευνώντας την παρακολούθηση, την ταυτότητα και τη μνήμη. Το παραγωγικό του έργο εκτείνεται σε άλμπουμ, ηχητικές εγκαταστάσεις, χορό, κινηματογράφο και δημόσια τέχνη ενώ έχει συνεργαστεί με καλλιτέχνες από τον Bryan Ferry μέχρι τον Merce Cunningham, τη Laurie Anderson και τον Steve McQueen. Επαναπροσδιορίζοντας συνεχώς τη σχέση μεταξύ ήχου και χώρου, το έργο του Rimbaud προσκαλεί τους ακροατές να συντονιστούν στους αόρατους ρυθμούς του σύγχρονου κόσμου.
𝐍𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐬
Ο Νίκος Φωκάς είναι μουσικός και sound artist που δραστηριοποιείται στο πεδίο της πειραματικής ηλεκτροακουστικής σύνθεσης. Το έργο του συνδυάζει τη modular σύνθεση, το πεδίο της ηχητικής έρευνας και τη λογοτεχνική ή εικαστική σκέψη, εξερευνώντας τον ήχο ως μορφή γραφής, μνήμης και τελετουργίας. Έχει παρουσιάσει έργα του σε συναυλίες, ηχητικές εγκαταστάσεις, θέατρικά έργα και δισκογραφικές κυκλοφορίες στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό, συνεργαζόμενος με καλλιτέχνες όπως οι Arve Henriksen, Steve Jansen, Chris Cutler κ.α. καθώς και με σύνολα και όπως οι Vault of Blossomed Ropes και οι Black Lesbian Fishermen. Παράλληλα τρέχει την «The Krell Society» μια ομάδα προώθησης του έργου καλλιτεχνών που δουλεύουν με modular synthesizers.

The Krell Society invites us to an evening where the modular textures and synths of 𝐍𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐬 (Black Lesbian Fishermen, Vault of Blossomed Ropes, Lüüp) meet the electronic soundscapes of British artist 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐮𝐝 aka 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 on the Underflow Record Store stage.
The performance will be visually accompanied by 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐳𝐢𝐚𝐬 (live painting) and 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐮 (video).

A pioneering British composer and artist celebrated for transforming the hidden frequencies of everyday life into music. Emerging in the early 1990s, Scanner became renowned for his innovative use of intercepted mobile phone conversations and found sounds, weaving them into haunting electronic compositions that explore surveillance, identity, and memory. His prolific output spans albums, sound installations, dance, film, and public art, collaborating with artists from Bryan Ferry to Merce Cunningham, Laurie Anderson and Steve McQueen. Continually redefining the relationship between sound and space, Rimbaud’s work invites listeners to tune into the unseen rhythms of the modern world.
𝐍𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐬
A musician and sound artist active in the field of experimental electroacoustic composition. His work combines modular composition, sound research and literary or visual thought, exploring sound as a form of writing, memory and ritual. He has presented his works in concerts, sound installations, theatrical works and record releases in Greece and abroad, collaborating with artists such as Arve Henriksen, Steve Jansen, Chris Cutler etc. as well as with ensembles such as Vault of Blossomed Ropes and Black Lesbian Fishermen. At the same time, he runs “The Krell Society”, a group promoting the work of artists who work with modular synthesizers.
