This class is geared towards learning just the very basics and the usage of Auto and Scene modes so you understand how to successfully make photos the simplest and easiest way. If you have no background in photography or are just trying to grasp Nikon’s controls, this class will help you feel comfortable.
Anyone who is new to DSLR photography and Nikon usage in particular. This class is good for cameras that have an Auto setting on the dial (no D3, D4, D4, D5, D500, D700, D800, D810, D850 pro cameras, no Z6 or Z7 mirrorless cameras and no Coolpix, please)

This is a slide-based presentation with a tethered demonstration. The class is three hours with a break mid-class.
What to Bring
A rested mind, A Nikon DSLR camera with a lens, charged battery, and memory card, note-taking supplies and a drink and/or snack for break time. Please have your camera assembled and battery charged prior to the class.
About the instructor
Ian McEnroe holds a Fine Arts degree from The University of Texas where he studied various media including painting and photography. He has been teaching photography at Precision Camera for the last 10 years where his first classes offered were based on the use of film cameras. His main interest in teaching these days is getting students to grasp primary concepts and overcome their fears from the often intimidating design of modern digital cameras. Ian works full time in Precision's sales department and teaches beginner and intermediate-level photography classes and does individual tutoring.
