Nihan és una soprano de formació clàssica, vocalista experimental, intèrpret i compositora. Procedent d'Istanbul, Turquia, Nihan Devecioglu ha desenvolupat una pràctica vocal basada en la recerca de la comprensió més enllà de les fronteres culturals.

Després de rebre una llicenciatura en comunicació per la Universitat Bilgi d'Istanbul i un màster en música per la Universitat Tècnica d'Istanbul, l'any 2003 Nihan va estudiar cant d'òpera durant cinc anys a la Universitat Mozarteum de Salzburg, Àustria.

Mitjançant la integració de les seves habilitats tècniques amb un estudi constant de la improvisació, Nihan continua buscant un terreny comú on les seves influències puguin entrellaçar-se i sorgir. Explorant lliurement els amplis límits de l'expressió musical en aquestes premisses, Nihan busca inspiració en fonts de naturalesa diferent: l'òpera, l'avantguarda, la música antiga, la música del món, el sufí turc i l'art popular i contemporani de diverses formes.

La seva diversitat vocal la va preparar entre d'altres per a projectes tan variats i prestigiosos com la col·laboració amb Bobby McFerrin a Instant Opera! al Carnegie Hall, actuacions a la Brooklyn Academy of Music de Nova York, concerts en solitari, entre d'altres, al Festival de Música de Stuttgart, Festival Internacional de Handel, Konzerthaus de Viena, Festival Internacional de Jazz Herbst Salzburg, Die Glocke Bremen, Festival Klangvokal de Dortmund, Teatre de Bremen ...

Per Byron Concerts ens proposa un viatge musical divers i intercultural de sons i cançons teixit a través de la poesia i la trobada humana. Música tradicional i original amb hebreu i turc, editada i recomposta amb la veu i loop de Nihan Devecioglu i al violoncel i efectes electrònics de Sasha Agranov. S'acompanyen en aquesta ocasió de la percusionista i vocalista Sol Homar
