About this Event

An early evening invitation to slow perception, soften the nervous system, and listen deeply.

"Night Night" is a guided sound meditation and blue lotus tea ceremony held within Night, Night, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Branche Coverdale. This experience brings together fine art, sound, and ritual to support deep rest, stress reduction, and sleep readiness.

Set among paintings that explore dreams, out-of-body experiences, and the quiet comforts of nighttime, guests are invited to witness the exhibition while gently traveling inward. Image, sound, and sensation meet in a shared exploration of the conscious, subconscious, and unconscious material we often process through rest and sleep.

This is not a performance or a lecture.

It is an immersive, deep-listening experience.

A way of relating differently to art, sound, and rest.

THE EXPERIENCE

The evening unfolds in three movements:

• Arrival + Artist Welcome

Guests are welcomed into the gallery and invited to settle. Sara, owner of Paradigm Gallery + Studio, opens the evening with a brief welcome and introduces the featured artist. The artist shares reflections from their lived experience with the work, offering context and inspiration for deep looking and personal inquiry as the collection is witnessed.

• Sound + Blue Lotus Tea Ceremony

Luna Maye then invites guests into relationship with their individually served cup of blue lotus tea, offering gentle context around its traditional uses and calming properties. Satin eye masks are provided to support sensory softening and inward focus.

Guests are guided through a 60-minute seated sound meditation using neuroscience-informed frequencies, harmonics, and overtones designed to support nervous system down-regulation, stress relief, and sleep preparation. The sound journey mirrors the inner terrain reflected in the artwork: dreams, memory, and the spaces between waking and sleep.

Integration

The experience closes with quiet time for integration, allowing the body and mind to settle before re-entering the evening.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Branche Coverdale is a Philadelphia-based artist originally from Yonkers, New York. His expressive, playful practice blends cartoon language, pop culture, and urban experience, informed by silkscreen techniques developed during his time at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Coverdale spent several years traveling between New York and Japan as a studio assistant for Takashi Murakami, an influence that continues to shape his exploration of city life, representation, and the blurred boundaries between reality and fiction. His work frequently employs iconic symbols and recurring motifs, including the doppelgänger, as invitations to consider multiple realities existing at once.

His recognitions include the Mural Arts Fellowship for Black Artists (2022), New York Times Best Illustrations (2024), and Best of Philly (2025). His work spans public murals, gallery exhibitions, and major editorial commissions, including illustrations for The New York Times.
