Night One of the 15th annual Bitter Jester Music Festival!
Food • Craft Beer • Wine • Music - FREE CONCERT • FREE PARKING
We're celebrating 15 years with a return to live music! Come out to Downtown Highland Park to hear some of the best emerging musicians from across the Midwest. Bands and Solo performers from a handful of states perform in a competition concert series for prizes and the title of "Grand Champion!"
HOW IT WORKS:
1) Six bands compete in four preliminary concerts;
2) Professional judges select one band to win each Friday;
3) Four Wild Card Bands are chosen at the end of August;
4) The eight Finalist Bands all compete at the Grand Finale on September 5 at Wolters Field in Highland Park, IL;
5) Judges pick two Winners and an Honorable mention...
6) The winners have a final show-down, playing a single song. The judges re-vote as the audience cheers for their favorites to lend a hand, and a Grand Champion is selected after the judge's final votes are read.
This week's bands are…to be announced! Come back soon to see this week’s lineup (announced mid-July).
NOTE FOR PERFORMERS: We have instituted a zero tolerance rule: Regardless of age, musicians who are performing are not allowed to purchase or consume any alcohol whatsoever. If any band member breaks this rule, their entire band will be disqualified. Thank you in advance for understanding and following this rule. If you are over 21, you are encouraged to come out on a Friday when you are not performing in order to partake.
NOTE FOR JUDGES: Judges will refrain from drinking alcohol while they are judging.
