About this Event

Local headline show by Niamh Keane & an amazing band! Support act is Irish trad fusion act Wickerlight. This event is part funded by South Dublin Live, a South Dublin County Council Arts Office Initiative.

Niamh Keane is a singer-songwriter, violinist, guitarist and pianist from Clondalkin. Her last single 'Imprints' (released February 2023) was described by The Thin Air magazine as "a folk craft that makes space for light and shade with a singular nuance" and "a gossamer ode to unconditional love that, across two contrasting chord progressions, gently pivots between a sense of darkness and release". Keane's most notable headline performances and collaborations include a double headline folk concert with legendary songwriter John Spillane, session violinist for Disney's Plus production of 'Bono & The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming with Dave Letterman", support slots for Damien Dempsey, Kíla, Stocktons Wing and repeat performances at Electric Picnics Irish Language tent 'An Puball Gaeilge'. Her songwriting has been recognised by IMRO's Christie Hennessy Songwriting Contest and the Pan Celtic National Song Contest. Accompanying Niamh at this event will be Ailbhe Kehoe (piano, flute, backing vocals) & David Sexton (cello).

Emanating from the vibrant depths of the Irish music scene, Wickerlight is an electrifying four-piece band that thrives on the fusion of raw energy and eclectic sounds. With their unique blend of influences ranging from Irish traditional music to pulsating rock, infused with infectious dance and Eastern European rhythms, Wickerlight has quickly carved a distinct and captivating niche in the industry.

Hailing Dublin Ireland, Wickerlight has been creating their own distinctive sound since they first got together. Their set list of completely original compositions reflects their diverse musical influences, resulting in an exhilarating blend that is sure to ignite any crowd.

To date they have sold out notable venues such as The Grand Social & Whelan’s of Wexford St to name a few
