NHG's 75th Anniversary Celebration

It's our BIG birthday! We're so happy to still be here as we welcome our longtime customers who have supported NHG for generations, and helped to make us the choice gardening destination we are today - and you're all invited to our garden gathering!

We've brought back several of our friends that have shared our commitment to inform and connect with our gardening community for this special event! There's lots going on outside and inside:

For the young (and not-so-young), there's rock painting on the terrace. Window to the Wild returns to teach the value of helping our native birds - and show them to you up close! And just for the fun of it, we welcome back artists from Aha! to bring you the fun of face painting and balloon twisting, plus Cathy's Critters returns with another collection of fur and feathers to see and pet!

Plus, we're open 9am-6pm every day for the spring season, because there's always those other cool plants, garden products, and unique gifts we're known for, along with great gardening guidance so you can bring on spring to your home.

THIS EVENT IS BOTH INDOORS AND OUTDOORS, AND IS OPEN TO EVERYONE.

For 75 years, North Haven Gardens has been rooted in the Dallas gardening community. Founded in 1951 by Ralph and Muriel Pinkus, what started as a small landscaping company on 9 acres grew into a local, trusted plant nursery fueled by Ralph’s love for plants and deep horticultural expertise. With experience at the New York Botanical Garden and in plant restoration in Guatemala during WWII, Ralph brought rare plants, a breadth of knowledge, and a passion for cultivating successful gardeners to Dallas. Through the years, North Haven Gardens has evolved and expanded all while staying a family owned, multi -generational business, with Ralph’s legacy and business passed down to his son Jon Pinkus, and grandson and current owner, Aaron Pinkus.

In October 2019, a devastating tornado reduced the original nursery to rubble. With resiliency and support from our loyal customers, we were able to rebuild and reopen stronger than before. In 2020, North Haven Gardens reopened on the same land with a brand-new nursery, greenhouse, lawn space, cafe, patio, and new concept Ralph & Rose: a coffee shop and boutique nestled in the back of NHG. Our trusted Garden Advisors, Garden Coaches, and landscape design and installation partner, Yardspell all help NHG preserve Ralph Pinkus’ original core values of horticultural expertise and quality plants as the ongoing foundation of North Haven Gardens.
