Ngā Tohu o te Taiao brings together art and matauranga māori (maori knowledge), with a live sand art performance by Marcus Winter, following a narrative by Rikki Solomon that reflects on the environment and season of raumati (summer).
Life is busy and often we forget to stop and look around. Ngā Tohu o te Taiao aims to build our connection to the tohu (environmental indicators) of the natural world, celebrating the season of raumati through an arts experience.
Drawing on mātauranga māori, Ngā Tohu o te Taiao uses the time-honoured tradition of storytelling to illustrate the passing of the seasons and to help us connect to the world around us.
