About this Event

Nganya Award Festival

Get ready for the most epic event of the year - the Nganya Award Festival! Join us at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre for a day filled with music, food, and fun.

The Nganya Award Festival is a vibrant and highly anticipated annual event in Nairobi, standing as the ultimate celebration of Kenya's unique matatu culture. It's a dazzling spectacle where souped-up matatus, known locally as 'nganyas', from various routes compete for prestige in categories like Best Design,Kenya 1, Best Graffiti, and Best Sound System. The festival showcases the immense creativity, artistry, and entrepreneurial spirit that defines this youth-driven public transport industry.

However, beyond the booming music and stunning artwork lies a core and crucial objective: to champion and raise awareness for road safety.

The event actively promotes this goal by integrating awards for the 'Most Disciplined Driver' and recognising Saccos with exemplary safety records. By rewarding professionalism, adherence to traffic regulations, and excellent customer service alongside creative flair, the Nganya Award Festival incentivizes positive change from within the industry. It provides a unique platform where road safety authorities and stakeholders can engage directly with crews and the public, transforming a cultural phenomenon into a powerful tool for advocating responsible road use. It masterfully blends entertainment with advocacy, celebrating the best of matatu culture while steering it towards a safer, more professional future.

Don't miss out on this unforgettable experience!
