Struggling to understand how the different parts of the software work with each other? Not sure how to get your tracks started or how to get them finished?
In collaboration with 𝗘́𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘄, Ivy Teresa aka Yvois, will be leading a day-long 'Next Steps In Ableton Part I' course for FLINTA* folks interested in electronic music production.
This course is intended for producers who have already attended the Ableton For Beginners course, or who already have some experience in using Ableton Live, but who do not feel fully at ease with the software and would like to deepen their understanding of popular features.

Requirements:
Participants must bring their own laptop with a version of Ableton installed, and a pair of wired headphones (not bluetooth). Note that you can get a trial version of Ableton free at the Ableton website for 30 days: https://www.ableton.com/en/trial/
Our Next Steps course has been divided in to Parts I and II. Please review the topics below and to decide if this is the right course for you.
Part I (this course) aims to cover:
Overview of Ableton For Beginners course (Basic Ableton functions, working with MIDI and audio, basics of effects, moving from Session View > Arrangement View)
Working with audio in Samplers (Simpler & Drum Rack), understanding Warp Modes
Effects: Using automation, effects chains, sidechain effects
Hardware: Exploring MIDI controllers
File management & organisation
Part II (January 2025) aims to cover:
Basics of Synthesis
Basics of Mixing: gain staging, EQ, compression
Using Plug-ins & VSTs
Setting defaults, presets & favourites
Creative & practical strategies for starting, progressing & finishing tracks
If you have particular topics you hope to learn more about, please let us know below. There is no guarantee that all suggestions can be included, but we'll try.

Covid 19: E13 is a Covid-cautious space. This means that we ask all participants to take a covid test before arrival. Tests can also be provided for 1-2€ upon arrival. If you need to take a test at the space, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the event. Masking is welcome but not mandatory.

Ivy Teresa aka Yvois is a musician, producer, and music educator with over 15 years of experience introducing individuals and groups of all levels and backgrounds to the joy of music-making. She is the founder of Éclat Crew Berlin. She produces warm, wonky beats and singer of moody aural treats under the name Yvois, and is the singer-songwriter behind the indie rock project Luckless.
