Thursday, October 29, 2026 - Annual General Meeting from 9:00 A.M - 1:00 P.M
Following the Environmental Management Best Practices sessions presented through The Learning Circle on August 12–13, TALSAA is bringing members together in person to continue the conversation.
NEXT STEPS: Environmental Management in Practice is a two-day, hands-on workshop with Melanie Daniels that takes a deeper look at environmental management and how it connects to day-to-day work within First Nations.
The Learning Circle introduced participants to environmental management principles, environmental legislation and compliance, environmental liabilities, fuel and waste management, governance, community involvement, and the shared responsibility of caring for the land.
What to expect
Participants can expect a practical and interactive learning environment focused on:
- Building on the environmental management foundations introduced during The Learning Circle
- Exploring environmental management through a First Nations lens
- Connecting environmental responsibilities, compliance and governance to everyday work
- Discussing environmental challenges and experiences from within First Nations
- Learning alongside other TALSAA Member Nations
- Exploring practical approaches that can be brought back to your Nation
We will share a detailed workshop agenda closer to the event.
