A 42km race circumnavigates the Whakarewarewa Forest hitting all 4 Peaks: Kohaturoa (Pohaturoa), Titokorangi, Moerangi and Kakapiko. This is a perfect practice outing for those participating in the Tarawera Ultramarathon 50km, 100km or 100mi events.Kohaturoa (Pohaturoa), Titokorangi, Moerangi and Kakapiko – The Peaks that make up our ultimate challenge and the event that will crown our King and Queen of the Legend of the Peaks. The New Zealand Forest Marathon is a one of kind race that combines culture, nature, the living earth and the ultimate 42kms off-road race challenge. With approximately 1750m of elevation gain, this event provides an ideal launch platform for those who want to move on to Ultramarathons, or to test those who aspire to take on the world of endurance racing.
