Come find out what all the funny fuss is about with New York Comedy Club talent bookers and professional comedians. You’ll learn about the industry, how to find what’s funny, structuring a joke and working the stage!
Candi Clare is currently the Head of Talent and Development for New York Comedy Club, and has been working in the stand-up comedy industry for the past 15+ years. In addition to booking clubs and festivals, Candi works consistently with organizations in cultivating both live and virtual comedy shows. She currently co-produces a weekly show with "The Daily Show"’s Michael Kosta, and has directed multiple comedy albums and specials, including those of Ashley Austin Morris, Mike Finoia, Maximilian Spinelli, Ben Kirschenbaum, and Mike Bramante, among others. Candi has written and produced a feature film, co-hosted a successful podcast, and comes from a performing arts training background, including conservatories in England and NYC. She is an active board member of the Ladies of Comedy Association. Her years of experience have kept her uniquely in tune with the constantly changing trends in comedy and made her a master in navigating those shifts.Candi noticed there was immense confusion for newer comedians trying to understand and navigate the industry. She started a Comedy Intensive Course in early 2018. The focus is for comedians to learn club dynamics, festivals, representation, how to workshop jokes, tighten sets and collaborate with other comedians.
Class is from 6 - 9 PM at our Stamford location.
Limit of 10 sign-up per class. Must be 16 + to attend.
