New Year, Still Queer

ELEN & PFLAG can't wait to come together at Felice for another mixer, this time on a Saturday! To start off 2025 with warm vibes, we've decided to throw a beach-ey in the winter time meet-up for our Sapphic, Trans*, Queer and Allied communities!! This event is accessible, central, inclusive and offers free admission. No cover but please register in advance via this page. Supporter donation packs are available now!

Remember, the theme is 'Beach'. We'll even have a fun photo wall space to pose with, so dress in your best summer-in-winter attire! We will also have bracelet-making on-hand, the perfect trinket to take home or a gift for the new cool person you've just met.

ELEN believes one of our main goals has always been assisting people to connect with each other, and we've had a lot of requests recently for meet-ups that highlight the potential for friendship and romantic matches. We will be reintroducing our labelling system from our SkipTheUhaul Dating Club events, which defines if attendees are open to new friends, dating, both or neither and if they are looking for romance if they are Monogamous or Ethically Non-Monogamous/ENM/Poly* with easy to understand stickers. Also check out our new conversation starters, social activities, crafts and laidback games.

Thanks to a generous donation from PFLAG Canada and distributed by the efforts of our local Edmonton PFLAG Chapter, Trans Rights lawn signs can now be reserved for pick-up at this event from 7-9pm. Please e-mail [email protected] to reserve your sign or arrange an alternate pick-up where necessary. These sturdy signs can be propped on your lawn with the optional metal stake or hung proudly in a window, etc.

The first floor of Felice Cafe is fully mobility accessble. A quiter space will be equipped upstairs. If accessibility to this area is a concern we will find an alternative.

Location: Felice Cafe is inside the Stadium Yards located in Commonwealth. Nearby the transit station, there are lots of LRT and bus route options. There is free street parking available. The first floor of Felice Cafe is fully mobility accessible.

-Menstrual and hygeine supplies provided by ELEN & Alphabet Soup Bookstore

Dietary: Food items with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available by purchase. Beverages, including alcohol also served.

SkipTheUhaul labelling system: Name and pronoun tags are opt-in. If you want, you can add stickers that denote if you are looking for friends/dating/both and if you are Monogamous or Ethically Non-Monogamous (ie; what kind of dating you are looking for, if you are looking). Tags and labels can be skipped entirely.
