New Year Hike in the Winter Woods

Wintertime in the woods has its own magic. Join us as we explore the oak forest of Welsh Mountain in this first hike of 2025. We will look for signs of large mammals like deer and fox as well as birds like woodpeckers. We will hike out to the Welsh Mountain overlook to enjoy some beauitful winter views.

Where to Meet: The parking area of Welsh Mountain Nature Preserve

What to Expect: This is a 3-mile loop hike on a rocky trail with mostly flat terrain. It is recommended for ages 10+. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There is a port-a-john on site.

What to Bring: Dress for the weather with sturdy shoes. Bring water and a snack if desired.

Animal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home.

Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.

Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation a day in advance for severe weather. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed, and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email and refunded.
