About this Event
The seminar will cover the elements of Good Cause Eviction, new tenant rights due to the 2019 Tenant Protection Act, and more. Representatives from NHS Brooklyn and Brooklyn Legal Services will answer questions such as:
- Can my landlord raise rent to any amount? What is considered a reasonable increase?
- How do I know if my landlord is overcharging me?
- Does my home qualify under the new rent laws? How do I find out?
- How much notice should my landlord give if they will increase the rent or not renew my lease?
- On what grounds can my landlord evict me?
- How do I know if my apartment is rent-stablized or rent-regulated, and if my rent is correct?
There will be a Questions & Answer period, so bring your questions!
