Inspired by the hit show MTV Unplugged, the New Tampa Unplugged concert series presents acoustic performances by notable Tampa Bay-area musicians. The theater is transformed into a unique, living-room-style venue with candlelit cabaret seating for an up-close, intimate concert experience.Shankh & Friends blends ancient Indian traditions with modern global grooves, creating a vibrant, ever-evolving soundscape of hypnotic rhythms, bold improvisation, and cross‑cultural magic. Led by internationally touring tabla virtuoso Shankh Lahiri—joined by Bobak’s Persian‑infused guitar, Cletus’s Jamaican‑rooted bass, and a rotating cast of guest artists—the group delivers electrifying performances where cultures collide, genres dissolve, and every show becomes a joyful celebration of unity through music.
