Томас Кьок пише пророчество за изчезването. Тo проследява нашите следи в бъдещето като в същото време се обръща назад към същите тези наши следи в миналото. Търси се перспективата към всичко онова в света, което може да съществува и работи, без да познава и без да се нуждае от човека. Авторът ни вкарва в един колкото тих, толкова и оглушителен поток от спомени, в който край нас преминават стотици изчезнали животинските видове. Изчезнали или по-скоро избити. Най-вече защото европейците са се отправили да търсят земи, ресурси и забавления на съседните континенти.
В този реквием-манифест Томас Кьок концентрирано и настойчиво пита защо не можем да спрем да вървим към убедено саморазрушение? Пиесата е хибрид между опело и апел, между песен и ехо от бъдещето. Екотът и достига до настоящето, което тъкмо сега пресича „критичната точка“.
Томас Кьок (1986) е популярен съвременен австрийски драматург. Завършил е философия във Виенския университет и Свободния университет в Берлин, както и сценично писане и кинотеория в Берлинския университет по изкуствата. Автор е на пиеси, преведени и на повече от 15 езика, които печелят редица награди и се играят в целия немскоговорящ свят. Бил е резидентен драматург в Националния театър в Манхайм и е носител на наградата Else Lasker-Schüler, наградата за драматургия на Austrian Theatre Alliance, стипендията на Томас Бернхард и наградата Kleist Förderpreis (2016) за изгряващ драматург и Mülheimer Dramatikerpreis (2018). Неговият документален филм за гражданската война в Ливан е поканен в програмата Talents на Берлинале.

Thomas Köck wrote a prophecy of extinction. It traces our footprints into the future while looking back to those same footprints in our past. It seeks the perspective of all that in the world that can exist and work without knowing or needing humans. The author takes us into a stream of memories as silent as it is deafening, in which hundreds of extinct species pass us by. Extinct, or rather killed off. Mostly because Europeans have gone in search of land, resources and entertainment on neighbouring continents.
In this requiem-manifesto, Thomas Köck asks, in a concentrated and insistent manner, why can't we stop moving towards convinced self-destruction? The play is a hybrid between an operetta and an appeal, between a song and an echo of the future. Its eloquence reaches out to the present, which is just now crossing the 'tipping point'.
Thomas Köck (1986) is a popular contemporary Austrian playwright. He studied philosophy at the University of Vienna and the Free University of Berlin, as well as stage writing and film theory at the Berlin University of the Arts. He is the author of plays that have also been translated into more than 15 languages, which have won numerous awards and are performed throughout the German-speaking world. He was resident playwright at the National Theatre Mannheim and has won the Else Lasker-Schüler Prize, the Austrian Theatre Alliance Playwriting Award, the Thomas Bernhard Fellowship and the Kleist Förderpreis (2016) for an emerging playwright and the Mülheimer Dramatikerpreis (2018). His documentary about the Lebanese civil war was invited to the Berlinale Talents program.
