About this Event
Welcome to our Sketchbook Club!!!
Sketchbooks are an essential part of the creative process for artists of all disciplines. Whether you want to paint, do sculpture, installation, textiles, jewellery, interior design, printmaking or ceramics, or whether you want to do your own Sketchbook Journal for simply having a fun creative time, this is the place where ideas are born.
The sketchbook is a complete record of the artist's creative process which is often more important than the finished object at the end of this process.
We will be looking into the world of sketching through the examples of sketchbooks done by the masters of the arts.
During this course you will have the opportunity to collect a visual research, whether you will find this useful for your course work, developing concepts or making simple and quick visuals into exciting images.
Artists use their sketchbooks as both final place to create art as well as an experimental laboratory for working on ideas that will expand.
You will be able to develop your sketching skills by learning different techniques and by using various drawing and painting mediums.
Whilst participating in our Sketchbook Club you will be taking an inspiration from your everyday surroundings, your favourite artists, poetry and music, and transform this into your own individual work of art.
After completing this course you will be able to expand your sketching ideas onto a larger scale of work on one of our longer drawing and painting courses available at our learning centres.
This course is suitable for both beginners and students who have already attended our previous courses and workshops. You will be under the professional supervision of our art tutor Marina.
About your tutor:
Marina T-Harrison has a BA Hons in Arts ( BA in Painting, Electives in Scenography, and Conservation and Restoration) and Master in Arts (MA in Scenography, Theatre Direction Pathway).
Her educational background is built on the values of the University of Arts London, where she completed her education in the arts at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
Marina has been teaching at WSC for several years, on many art courses and workshops.
