About this Event
Sean O’Brien will read from his new poetry pamphlet, Juniper, for which this event will be the Newcastle launch.
Each ticket-holder will be given a free copy of Juniper on arrival. Additional copies will also be on offer at the event for the special price of £5.
Sean has lived in Newcastle for over 30 years. His eleventh collection of poems, Embark, was published by Picador in 2023; his twelfth will follow in 2026. Between these full collections, his publications include a chapbook, Impasse: for Jules Maigret (2023) from Hercules Editions, and two pamphlets, Otherwise (2023), and now Juniper, both from Brighton-based Dare-Gale Press.
Sean’s asked two poets to join him for the evening to read their own work:
Northumberland-based poet Pippa Little has three collections from Carcanet and Arc, most recently Time Begins to Hurt (2022), and is completing a fourth. She is a poetry tutor for Faber Academy Newcastle.
Harry Man lives in County Durham. This year sees the publication of both his first poetry collection Popular Song (Nine Arches Press) and his translations of the work of Norwegian poet Endre Ruset, Noriaki, (Broken Sleep Books). Harry is a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at Newcastle University.
Drinks will be available at the bar downstairs.
PLEASE NOTE:
There are steep stairs up to the first floor venue and no lift.
