A ride around the streets of New Plymouth to raise awareness of the Pass Wide & Slow NZ campaign for legal recognition of equestrians as vulnerable road users. Keep us safe by passing wide and slow. Horse riders, carriage drivers, walkers and led horses welcome to join. Limited numbers.
The confirmed Route for Sunday, 14 September 2025
Starting point 1 Saddle Row, Welbourn, New Plymouth – Saddle and Sulky entrance to the racecourse – parking for floats.
Head west toward Rogan St and follow, turning left onto Gover St, then turning left onto Gilbert St, then left onto Victoria Rd. Continue onto Brooklands Rd. Then turn left from Brooklands onto Kaimata and then around at the end and back to Brooklands via Cornwall Street. Continue along Brooklands Road onto Victoria Rd, then right onto Gilbert St, right onto Gover and back into the racecourse via Rogan St.
This Route is approximately 6.4km and should take around 90 minutes.
