Halloween Celebrations In New Orleans 2023

New Orleans is renowned for its diverse and vibrant culture with a history of over three centuries. New Orleans is nicknamed as the ”Big Easy” because of its laid back, easy going lifestyle and the city is home to some of the most famous festivals in the world. There are numerous festivals throughout the year but the most popular one is Halloween. The city is decorated with elaborate Halloween decorations, spooky sounds and music and people dress up in their scariest attires to celebrate this ghoulish festival. New Orleans Halloween celebrations are held across the city and people attend these events dressed in their horrifying costumes. 

Things To Do On Halloween 2023 In New Orleans

The city comes alive during Halloween with a vibrant ambiance, packed streets, ghoulish decorations and music. The French Quarter hosts some of the most famous Halloween events in New Orleans. The most popular event is Krewe of Boo's annual Halloween parade that is held on October 31 every year. This parade starts at 7 pm from Jackson Square and ends at midnight at Canal Street. 

  • Participate in Voodoo Mystery Paranormal & History Tour and Follow the guide through the magical streets of the Vieux Carre and visit historic and cultural landmarks. Visit to the famous St Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square and many more places that played a vital role in New Orleans history.   • Splat Hair Color and the Krewe of Boo present the 5th Annual New Orleans Zombie Run on the morning of Saturday, October 22, 2023. The 2 mile run/walk/crawl starts and ends at Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant, 701 Tchoupitoulas Street. Make up artists available. VIP registration includes exclusive access to the second floor and balcony and includes food and open call bar, and special access to make up artists starting at 7:30 a.m.

  • New Orleans Vampire Ball 2023 “Memento Immortalitas” (remember your immortality). To be held on Saturday, October 29th at the legendary House of Blues, located right in the middle of the French Quarter at 225 Decatur Street. These events are a series of masquerade ball theme soirees produced by Impressario Father Sebastiaan which began in NYC in 1996 with the “Vampyre Ball of New York” and the “Main Gala Event”, the New Orleans Vampire Ball, over Halloween weekend.
