New Nature Narratives at North Commons - A Winter Walk and Talk.

Join The Minneapolis Parks Foundation and Melanin in Motion for a Winter Walk & Talk at North Commons Park! Feb 22, 2-4 pm. All ages, all abilities, and all appetites.

Take a self-guided walk through the historic North Commons Park and the history and future of our community's relationship to nature through personal stories of leaders, legends, elders, and neighbors. This winter event offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the rich history of the Northside, foster connections, and celebrate the rich legacy of Black Minnesota in the outdoors.

Enjoy meaningful conversations, make a discovery, gather around a cozy bonfire, roast s'mores, and learn about the magic and legacy of North Commons. Come explore, reflect, learn, share and have fun, this event offers something for everyone.

Share your story with us! Bring your favorite North Commons or North nature moment, a note of advice, a funny joke, a message of hope or connection, or any story that comes to mind. We will have a station for YOU to tell your story. Meet author, photographer, birder, biker, and Black Minnesotan - Dudley Edmondson and win a copy of his new book - People the Planet Needs Now.

This event is free and family-friendly, perfect for all ages and abilities! We will finish with a shared meal of warm soup and warm sentiment.
