SKATERS/DERBY PLAYERS
New to roller derby skaters are placed in our Texas Tumbleweeds 8 week program to learn how to skate forwards/backwards, stop, fall safely, take/give hits and learn the basic rules of roller derby! Once Captains have deemed a skater "draftable", the skater will be moved on to bouter practices. Please note, everyone progresses at different levels, some new skaters may need longer than 8 weeks to be ready to draft, and that is okay! ❤
What you'll need:
Quad skates
Knee pads
Elbow pads
Wrist guards
Helmet
Mouth guard
Monthly Dues:
$25
Practices:
Nations Tobin Park (Large rink)
Wednesdays 6-7pm
Fridays 6-7pm
*** Skaters with past derby experience MUST come to Tumbleweeds practices first, then Coaches will approve to move on to bouter practices. (bouter practices: Wednesdays and Fridays 7-8:30pm)***

REFEREES
Referees are taught skating skills during our Tumbleweeds Program (6-7pm Weds & Fris) and rules/gameplay during bouter practices (7-8:30pm Weds)
What refs need:
Quad skates or Inline skates (inlines for refs only)
Knee pads
Elbow pads
Wrist guards
Helmet
Whistle
Ref shirt
Monthly Dues: NONE

NON-SKATING OFFICIALS
NSOs track game time, scores, penalties and more!
Training for NSOs is Weds 7-8:30pm
