NEW: Inside the Olympic Mind: The Science of Elite Expertise
About this Event
On September 29th, we present : "Inside the Olympic Mind: The Science of Elite Expertise" by Prof. Magdalena Wojtowicz
What separates an Olympian from the rest of us?
It’s not just strength, speed, or natural talent. Behind every record-breaking performance is a brain that has been trained to learn faster, adapt better, anticipate under pressure, and make split-second decisions when it matters most.
In this fascinating lecture, Dr. Magdalena Wojtowicz explores the science of elite expertise and what we can learn from the minds of the world’s top performers. Drawing on research in cognitive psychology and sport science, she reveals how Olympic athletes develop extraordinary abilities through years of deliberate practice, experience, and refinement.
How do experts see patterns that others miss? How do they stay focused when the stakes are highest? And what can the rest of us borrow from elite athletes to improve how we learn, perform, and adapt?
From milliseconds on the track to moments of decision under pressure, this lecture uncovers the hidden cognitive skills behind exceptional performance — and how they can help all of us reach our own potential.
Expect a fascinating evening that goes beyond athletic achievement to explore the science of becoming better at anything.
